Do you need to get around Belize to see some destination or festival? You will find that there are a lot of options for tourists like you to go around the country. It isn't exactly to go around here only if you know how to communicate well with the locals. Modes of transportation here are just generally the same as in other nations.
For long-distance travels, your bestfriend is always the airplane, as it will provide you with a quick and convenient trip to the farthest parts of the country. The view from above shall also give you a more general view of the country. In contrast, you can also take a bus to go to far places in Belize. In buses, you will have the chance to see more of the cultural features of the country, as well as have more time to rest while sitting down in that bus. For shorter distances, bicycles are also a common choice among the locals, although I suggest that you become a little bit careful because of the bumpy roads of most Belizean cities. Bikes here have the tendency to have flat tires because of the road quality. You can also use taxis or the ferries for those routes that cannot be serviced by a land vehicle. One can always go for a car rental service as they are fairly common in tourism-dependent Belize, but the obvious drawback here is the associated costs. If you are a budget-conscious traveler, car rentals should already be out of the equation. Go for public transportation instead. If not, then go ahead and rent cars all the way! They're more convenient to have as you don't have to pay money every now and then. There's also this thrill if bringing a map with you and actually navigating yourself around the country with that map. Whatever mode of transportation you use, always be wary of your surroundings.
